Sheldon's 1969 Dodge Super Bee 4-speed

Sheldon and Shari 1972 with 69 Super Bee

Sheldon & first wife Shari in 1972 at Minnesota Dragways with 1969 Dodge Super Bee.

Ya gotta love the pants!  Those were my "crawling under cars" clothes, but in the late 60's I'm sure I was right in style.

This is the only photo I have of my Super Bee but this photo speaks volumes about the reason for my son Aaron being a gearhead.  Shari's normal weight was about 97# but she was 9 months pregnant at the time and Aaron was born in early June and he was 3 days old when he attended his first drag race at North Star Drag Strip in Minneapolis.   Unfortunately Shari and I were divorced in 1976 and I had to sell the Super Bee.  But I did keep my 1968 Plymouth GTX 440 Magnum class record holder and Shari kept the 1967 Chevelle 327 4-speed.  We also sold the 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 HO 4-speed.  Oh, to only have that fleet now... if only...
I could be found at a drag strip just about every weekend for about ten years.
